You can bet it was well above cummins rated 1250 degrees max EGT's.

Are you sure it's a 16cm with a waste-gate? Didn't know such was available.

i have 2 questions, sorry to get off topic too, but i was wondering don't wastegates lower boost because i had my stock h1c with a 16cm housing and i made 30 -31 psi and i just put on my new s300 with a 12cm waste gate and i only made 25-27, not much of a difference but i had a 250 degree drop in egts.

My second question was can you go aboce 1250 for just a couple second then back off or you just shouldn't go over 1250 period.

1250 is max so you can run 1200 all day. 1400 and piston will start melting after about a minute and 1600 in about 30 seconds. 1800 will get you 15 seconds or less down the road. these are not written in stone. if you are towing a heavy load and egt's are around 1150 for a couple of hours straight and then you hit a steep hill, if you try to maintain speed and push your egt's to 1450 you will have a quick meltdown as your pistons are already soaked in heat. if you are going down the same road with no load and your egt's are 750 and as you start up the same hill and here comes a guy passing you in a powerchoke, you show him he can't pass your dodge and floor it. now going up this hill you hit 1450 and you hold it there for 30 seconds. most likely no harm will come to your truck because the pistons are not heat soaked and it will take longer for the pistons to heat all the way through.
i know i ramble a lot but i hope this helped answer you question.
