Did that price include all the clamps and hangers??

I got mine from a local big rig place for about $130. 2 90* and some strait pipe. took about 45min. to put together. It exits just behind the transfer case.

That's not greed, it buisness. Take a look and see how much these shops are getting S300's for. It isn't close to $1,000, but they charge a whole lot more than that.

On the BullyDog system, the 3" downpipe doesn't even matter if you still have the stock H1C, as they have a 3" exhaust outlet anyways.

Would you explain why people that have installed a full 4" system on a 3" outlet turbo has seen 100 degree drops in temp. Thats with no other changes in the truck. Just a 4" exhaust sytem.

Because the rest of the exhaust system is being opened up at least another inch. Most of the stock exhaust is probably crunched up anyways, so of course a newer and bigger system is going to flow better.

Unless I don't understand something, how can you get more air out of a 3" outlet, when you don't change the 3" outlet? In my mind, that doesn't make sense, but maybe I'm just stupid. Has anyone done a test to see if there is a difference in a 4" system with a 3" dp vs. a 4" system with a 4" dp, both having turbo's with 3" exhaust outlests of course?

any one ever heard of the venturi effect?? the smaller 3in opening becomes the venturi before the necked up 4in down pipe therefore speeding up the exhaust gas flow same with the muffler but this has to do with the sound waves (pulses) travelling down the exhaust system, this in effect is scavenging the spent gases from the system. Look into header designs and you will see this type of engineering.

What he said.

Free flow after the turbo does help performance. Faster turbo spool up, lower EGt's.

No I was not. I was wondering why he thought a anything bigger than a 3" down pipe was a waste of money.

you make it sound like it's a bad kit , the bully dog kit is 4'' with a 3'' down pipe, mine ran awsome after i put mine on, sounded good too, and it was only 517.99 shipped, then i bought a new turbo and a 4'' down pipe and now it sounds sick as h3!!. i thought it was well worth it and they made the kit with the option of straight pipe or muffler in the cut, mines obviosly straight, and it came with hangers, bolted reel good. I was satisfied.

yes they claim it comes with everything needed.

also the nice folks at stans explained that the straight pipe makes less power than the same system with a muffler. claiming that the muffler acts as a resonance chamber and allows pulsing pressures to equalize slightly before exiting the tailpipe. said it could be almost 10 hp. i guess that makes sense, but i still got the straight pipe!! i leave for work at 5:45 am, screw my neighbors!!
