Injectors - New Era VS BD VS DDP VS others?
I am looking for some opinions on injectors for a first gen... I am looking for an injector that when matched to the correct (single) turbo is capable of producing a SUSTAINABLE/TOWABLE 300 RWHP with minimal smoke (smoke on demand is ok ), reasonable heat, and minimal reduction in mileage (increased mileage is better). If this same injector could be capable of more power (again it must be sustainable power) with twins, awesome... If not, that is okay too. This is for a conversion. The recipient is a lifted '85 Dodge Crew Cab. Truck weighs 6400 with the stock small block and will gross at weights up to 15,000 (occasionally more). Trans will be a G360, gears are 3.54s and tires are 35" Now let the opinions fly

For 300 ( usable ) hp your going to need a very good turbo. I have 300 horse at the wheels with my 93 and it is way hot. I can peg the 1500 egt with an empty truck. I have the 60 mm GDS upgraded turbo. You will need a way better set up then that.

i'm shooting for 300ish too and i was planning ddp 4 injectors (80hp) and a s300. think the ddp 4"s are big enough? also i'm hoping to just re-torque my stock head bolts and keep boost around 35-40 psi.

Okay, a lot more research and a few more questions.... What is the general consensus about Coaltrain's injectors? What would the performance difference between a 5x12 (.0005652 total area) and a 6x11 (total area .0005699) be? - In other words, if the total area is "the same", and spray angle identical, are 5 holes or 6 holes preferred, and why? |

Same area should be the same flow. BUT -- Would you rather take a shower with 100 psi water pressure using a shower head or a 1" hose ??? Better fuel dispersion = more surface area to burn = better burning of available fuel = more power.

Anyone have an answer as to why the stock stick have the ?????? -- whatever -- in the top where the fuel lines connect ?? The spare set I had and sent in for my 6x.016's didn't have anything but a hole... That thing in there had to be limiting my max fuel capabilities...
