My son did the truck pull at school with his 93 cc 4x4 standard against a 94 f350 cc 4x4 auto with a 460 under the hood. He made the dreaded mistake of picking too high a gear, 3rd, and smoked his clutch while the ford walked away with him. He called me all upset wanting to know what happened. I told him 175k on the original clutch and you trying to pull against an automatic full size truck in the wrong gear. DUH. He went back the next day and tried it again in a lower gear and guess what, smoked the clutch again. Maybe some day he'll listen to the ol' man, but I ain't gonna give him too much hell because I did all that stuff when I was young, and still do some. Plus, he paid for his truck, not me. But I'm the one who teaches him how to fix it when it breaks. At least he knows how to work on things. Just my little story. GOD Bless, pepperman

I thought you would lose, but I should've been more clear in my 1st post. I've had many idiotic Ford die hards try and "hook up, bumper to bumper" with my truck, and I just laugh in their face. Instead of participating in something that in jno way shows which truck is better, I offer facts and support on why I prefer the Cummins and Dodge to the other brands. I guess it's just me, but I much prefer the look they give, when I start talking about things they have no idea about, but pretend to know. Makes me laugh.

Basically, all you proved by pulling the Ford, was you had more traction, or he couldn't drive, or both. If he was smart, (probably not) he would know why he lost, and know it has nothing to do with the engine.

Im sorry, I still dont understand how you won, and have a hard time believing it if you dont have video to prove it. You said you had to wait til your turbo lit to actually get him to move, it sounds to me that the other guy is a crappy driver and he broke traction and that is how you were able to get any movement and to have the ability to spool the turbo.. Where did you guys say that you hooked points?

they hooked up the goose neck hiches, and also I think what he means is that when he finnaly let off the clutch when the turbo was spooled up away he took off draging the ford and the result was that he won. My friend has a 99 CTD with a ATS aso we drag people around when we were in high school and yes they were a bunch of ranch boys that grew up driveing since we could reach the peddles all 3 of them

Whenever someone asks me to hook back to back I always tell them no...then suggest we hook up to a sled and see who does better...usually shuts em up
