A-Pump on a first gen
has anybody put a bosh a pump on a first gen? a lot of cummins came with a-pumps, but they were low hp(180) and governed at 2400(i think) the pump im looking at is off a automotive cummins so it has the rqv gov. and has 9.5 mm plungers. how would this be for performance. im sure stock for stock it would out perform a ve pump. but what about modded?

Just stick with your stock ve or put a p pump on it. Those are two pumps that are known to work and make lots of power.

My theory is, get what you can get out of the VE then do the swap. Dont put down 250hp with a VE pump and say "i quit" and put a p-thumper on...theres lots of free EASY stuff you can do to a VE to get good power, P-pump everthing costs money and is harder to get to, you gotta have special tools to adv. the timing on a p-pump
