I would assume they might be talking about the Lucas CAV PODS. They are a 4x14 injector. With your truck being a non i/c model you already have 4x12's. Those injectors are able to get 300 horsepower plus. I have those in my 89 still and I got 297 hp on the dyno. I would just read all you can here and study where to spend money on more needed upgrades. First needed upgrade is Exhaust Temp Gauge, boost, and fuel pressure. After you have those you can safely tune the pump.

The only "marine" injectors I hear people talking about are "marine 370's."

I hit 388HP on stock non-intercooled sticks. I would take the money that you were going to spend on injector's and buy gauges, a 4" exhaust, a high flow air filter (not a k&n), and build a high flow intake tube.

Just make sure that they are the correct spray pattern and pop pressure due to those being a P Pump injector in there stock form. ( I know you know this Parker, just for those who don't ). Around here lots of people put the pods in there boat engines that had the VE pump.

I think your right about the lower horsepower earlier engines. I know the 210's had rotory pumps on them but I thought the 370's and 435's were a newer engine and they had an inline pump. I have never laid eyes on a higher hp 6bt marine. My uncles 4b also has a rotory ip. His is a 150 hp model.

K&N's don't filter well enough for a turbo engine. I had one, and I always had a little bit of grit inside my intake tube that had gotten through my K&N. AFE makes a good air filter that filters better and still flows as good, or you can use a BHAF like a lot of people do. The AFE's are reusable, and the BHAF are throw a way's.
