I turned on the wipers the other day and of course they wouldnt turn on. I tested the wires going to my wiper motor and two of them have power when on high and low settings. the green wire, and the red and yellow wire dont have power. I put a new wiper motor on and it wouldnt work either. Any ideas?
have you checked the wiper bushings and if there fine then the switch is more then likely bad

I put my test light and hooked it on positive post and touched the motor while it was still attached and the test light came on, so that would mean my ground is good right? Not sure
U need to get rid of the test light and get a meter. How do you know how much voltage is goin through the wireing? Yes your test light lights up when you touch the wire, but it dosent take much to light them. Im not sure where the groung wire is on the motor ill go check on mine
One pwer wire and one ground from what i see if u have 12 volts and a good ground the motor should work, IF the motor is still good. Also check the plug for good connection, ie corrosion, pins that look pushed back in the the plug, or ? Does any of the wiring look burnt or melted?
Ok, so i got the multimeter. Now tested the plug and i'm definetly not getting a ground to the plug. So where do i go from here, do i have to start cutting the tape off all the wires or is there an easier way to find where the ground wire goes. On the plug there are five wires, dark green, brown, 2 dark blue, and red with yellow.
On a sidenote, what is the black box on the drivers side behind the headlight, it seems like most of the wiring on the truck ends up going to this box. What is it?
Well i figured out what the problem was and it was something simple. In order to see if the new motor was working i just plugged it in and kicked in the wipers, it didnt work. So i assumed something was wrong with wiring, after playing around with wires for a couple days, i talked to an old farm auto mechanic and he said there is a possibility that the housing has one bolt that has metal on the rubber grommet that connects it to the firewall for a ground. Well he was right. Bolted it on the truck and kicked the switch and bingo, off and running. Hope my stupidity helps some one else down the line.
There are. About 8 screws holding it down. Just pop the hood, take the screws out, pop off your wiper blades and pull the cowling towards the engine. It might take a little light screwdriver prying to get it out from under the weather stripping on the window.
