1st gen quad cab Cummins conversion

Found this while bopping around on autotrader (not my truck so I hope this doesn't count as advertising) - might be of interest to someone in the 1st gen forum. I would love to find a forest service/military truck and do this conversion some day. I think DP mag just had a little sidebar about another one. Anyway, here you go:

Cool truck! I'd like to know how they strectched the frame tho. And I could do without the cowboy sleeper.

She's got potential though!

I'm pretty sure it came from the factory that way (just not with a Cummins). The USFS & military & probably some railroad companies used quad cab longbeds. I'm not sure if they were sold to the general public and there may have been a third party shop with a contract to do the conversions. And yes, the sleeper has to go...

I bet thats a converted crew cab gasser. Not tons of em made, but a few none the less. And the model year can be fudged too. There are a few companies that did frame stretching, but with these, stretch the frame, and mount a 70's early 80's crew cab, and viola!

I think the 10k asking price is alil steep for something that looks like it hasn't moved in awhile (judging by the junk/dirt underneath it).
