Need some info on the 1993 dodge
Hey guys Ive been looking for a cummins for quite a while and have ran across a 93 4x4 with the x cab and the manual transmission. Just wondering if you could tell me the kind of manual tranny that is he said it was a 4 spd? also what kinds of gear ratios for the axles were provided? any other info would be greatly appreciated Thanks |

a 93 doesnt have a 4 speed or i have never heard of one, the axles are most likely 3.54 but possibly 4.11, the tranny just about has to be a g360 "getrag". o and welcome to the forum

from what i understand they are pretty reliable for everyday use and handle decent power. it will need to be over filled by a quart if i remember correctly

well depending on your right foot and the axles you should see decent mileage empty prolly around 16-18. as far as the truck the price seems pretty decent depending on what it looks like and how it was taken care of. the mileage doesnt scare me at all just be mindful of ball joints or king pins and the various wear items

Well maintained Cummins with that mileage usually still have the honing marks on the cylinders. As was said there are the usual wear items, belts/hoses/tires/brakes, but the expensive basics are pretty bullet-proof if driven decently. The Cummins are legendary for long-life and good fuel economy , .... enjoy!

One of the guys on this forum turned up his engine and blew his head gasket. He had over 500,000 on the clock. He was stunned to find that there was no ridge on his cylinders and the cross hatching looked like new. Our engines are industrial units. They are classed as medium-heavy and can push a heavy commercial truck for 200,000 miles at wide open throttle. In a pick-up truck a cummins should last for over a million miles.
