Its the radio. Our trucks shake them apart. I have went threw 2 in my truck. A friend has went threw 4 radio's across the 4ea 1st gens he has had. Any radio out any model Dodge will work up untill about 98 when the rounded front radio's came out. The later model radio's had seek buttons on them. If you move around a lot in strange areas. That seek button is nice for finding chanels.

I got my radio out of an 88 New Yorker, ... the block terminals all matched and it's better than the radio it came with

I got my radio out of a 96 Minivan. Has CD/Tape/AM/FM. All the pligs matched. I"ve also had all 4 speakers fail in the last 2 years. Replace those when you replace the headend.

In my work truck when the radio turns itself off, I've found that if I turn it off and on repeatedly it will actually turn back on eventually, and work for a while longer.
