Its the radio. Our trucks shake them apart. I have went threw 2 in my truck. A friend has went threw 4 radio's across the 4ea 1st gens he has had.

Any radio out any model Dodge will work up untill about 98 when the rounded front radio's came out.

The later model radio's had seek buttons on them. If you move around a lot in strange areas. That seek button is nice for finding chanels.

I got my radio out of an 88 New Yorker, ... the block terminals all matched and it's better than the radio it came with

I got my radio out of a 96 Minivan. Has CD/Tape/AM/FM. All the pligs matched. I"ve also had all 4 speakers fail in the last 2 years. Replace those when you replace the headend.

In my work truck when the radio turns itself off, I've found that if I turn it off and on repeatedly it will actually turn back on eventually, and work for a while longer.

I'd give the stock AM/FM to you for the price of shipping.

Lets see. Most of these trucks don't have a muffler. These trucks don't have much sound deadner. It has a noisy B series cummins and you want to talk about sound quality from the stock radio.

Good point, .... I've been surrounding the cab with sound insulation, starting in behind the door panels when I put in the new weather stripping. The door speakers were dead so replaced them at that time. Next will be the transmission tunnel and something down the back of the motor on the firewall. My dog sitting in the back seat is going deaf so I can hear the radio!
