thinking about new tires

Ok, so I'm thinking about putting a set of 255/85R16 tires on my 93 W-250. Are any of you guys running them on your trucks? If you are, I would love to see some pics, to help me decide.

I'm thinking either the cooper's, or the toyo m-55. Called on the toyo's on thursday... they are on national backorder I really kinda want 10 ply's. I'm really hoping that some other guy's are running this size, and have some pics.

I just took off a set of spent 255/80 BFG Mud Terrains. The tires were only D rated and wore out pretty quick, they only went about 20K before they were bald. They are way to soft for the weight of the Cummins IMO, the ride was terrible, traction in the rain sucked and ice was an excersize in keeping my underwear clean. I replaced them with some 305/70 E rated Firestone Destination AT`s, a HUGE improvement in all areas. I would definitely go with an E rated tire. Heres the only pic I have of the truck with the 255`s

Chris, you have any lift or are you stock with those 305's? I ask because I'm currently running 285/75R16 BFG's but am going to a set of Dunlop Maxxtraction E rated 305's in a few weeks and wanted to make sure they'd fit ok. I'd get 315's as I plan on adding a 2" lift this winter but I don't think they'll fit the truck 'as-is'.

The PO had an add a leaft put in and the springs re-arched but it has settled some since I bought the truck (5 years ago approx). With the rims on it and the 305`s I had to remove the front flares as the tires were catching on them and starting to damage the bottoms of the fenders. Without the flares there has been no rubbing. I think 305`s would fit/rub less or not at all if they were mounted on factory rims due to the offset and backspacing. Many aftermarket rims put the tire too far out wich is what is causing the rubbing on my truck.

I just put a set of Wrangler Dura Trac 285-75s on, e rated. so far so good, one short jaunt offroad thru some fields, no problems. Onroad smooth and quiet. Love the look of the truck with them on too, nice sidewalls, nice tread pattern

i have 255 85 bfg muds on mine seem fine to me they came on the truck they would look great but the truck has fender flares and it looks stupid with a narrow tire and flares without the flares they would look great. seem to perform just fine i want to go to alarger tire for looks mostly. i was trying to find this size tire for winter tires but not much luck.
