81 crewcab cummins swap project

So heres the story....I have a '81 Dodge Crew Cab 4x4 318 4spd with dana 60's front and rear with 4;10s... its an ol ARMY truck with very low miles and RUST FREE that I'm wanting to swap in a '92 Cummins with 5spd, AC,and CC.

I have purchased a BASKETCASE of a '92 Dodge diesel 4x4 regular cab,5spd, SRW....I have posted alot of ?'s on this in another topic...and have figured out some of my problems...
its been awhile since I have messed with this ...so it was time this weekend to get started on this swap....so stay tuned for this long road ahead of me to get all this swapped over...and hopefully maybe get the truck painted in the process....I will have some parts forsale also for a gas truck...and maybe some body parts?

So heres what I got done on the first day...

Next I hope to get the motor and tranny pulled out within the next couple days.

I know those trucks like the back of my hand, miss mine so much. Anyway if you need any parts for it, shop Auto Body Panels, the nearest one is on Mosteller Road in Ohio, very decent on price and great quality. they have a website youll have to google it. Good luck on swap!

thanks guys...yeah these crew cabs are hard to come by...I have been wanting one for years....fianlly came across this one a few months back..bought off a guy who I had sold a truck to last year. This is the only way I would ever buy one, thats an EX military truck....its still surprise's me how clean it is on the underside...there is NO rust on the bottom of this truck..not even any scaling on the frame....the only rust on the body is a small amount of surface rust ..mainly from the paint coming off where there are dents, etc.

Is that the 'little' shortbed or the loonngg 8ft bed?

I had a 72 crew with the long bed...

Took 40 acres to turn it around
