Did some research and found a few facts.

Realistic diesel consumption is 40 to 50 mpg. This assumes a high percentage of CNG (50% - 80%).
CNG provides more power and lower EGT's.

CNG varies in price an unbelievable amount. In Utah it is $0.89 per gallon. In Southern Ca it is $3.20 a gallon. The good part is you can purchase a home compressor that you hook to your gas line and it will fill your tank at about 1 gallon per hour. It is most conveniently done at night. If you do the home method the cost of CNG is about $1.20 per gallon. Some farms have their own CNG wells. If you are this lucky the CNG is free and you only need some electricity to run the compressor.

You can run CNG anywhere from 0% to 80% with diesel. So pure diesel is 0% CNG and the other extreme is 20% diesel and 80% CNG.

The owner of the racing truck from the magazine said he has never seen a combustion chamber stay cleaner than on a diesel CNG mix. He said that even at the super high power levels he ran there was no piston scorching.

There are federal and state incentives to go CNG. In CA it is $2000 from the state.

I am still looking for a kit. I found one that is rumored to be $1200 without the bottle. I will post when I can confirm pricing.

You can buy used good bottles on Ebay for a couple hundred bucks.
