We push the X-member up as high as it will go, keeping it up against the bottom of the cab, (earplugs) tap the X-member back and forth always keeping it up high. Helps to clean off any crud, might even smear some grease on the rails. It doesn't take a sledge hammer. We have not used any jacks yet.
