I have seen this thing on you tube and from what I understand what they are making is called "brown's gas."
It is a process where the water is electrically charged and it produces hydrogen.
One if the videos on you tube shows the guy's experiment exploding because of the volatility of the hydrogen.
I have a friend who had his truck switched over to this technology and he says it is getting up to 45 mpg.
The company that installed it says that it can be changed back to regular diesel pretty easily and they tune the truck to get what the driver wants.
My only concern is that this is hydrogen. It explodes and when it explodes, it causes DAMAGE!!
I keep thinking of the Hindenburg when I think of a hydrogen fuel cell.
What is the chance it will blow up if you get hit on the freeway?
Why hasn't this technology been used before?
I know that the oil companies have bought out all of the inventions that are cheaper to operate than gas or diesel and that is why there is no other concept that works.
I put a Superchip in my truck and I get between 19-22 mpg in the city and 23-26 mpg on the highway.
That is about what these crossovers get and I don't have to have a new car payment to get this mileage.
The old lady has a VW Passat TDI.
If she let her foot off of the accelerator, she would get 45+ mpg, but she has to drive 90 and only gets 35mpg.
That is my take on it. I just wanted to know if anybody else had any knowledge on the water4gas/diesel thing.
thanks,
albert
