I know a couple guys that bought trucks. One in Connecticut and 1 in Montana. That Real Diesel Dude gets top dollar for his trucks. The guy in Conn. said the Real Diesel Dude was weird to deal with, but the truck was nice, but pricey. The guy in Montana was not happy when he got his. Her is the PM he sent me when I asked how his new truck was.
"The truck was delivered by his driver to Billings Montana. The truck showed up with dents in the passenger side of the bed that were not in the E bay Pictures in the add for the truck. The driver mistakenly called me saying he was dropping off a plow in Ohio on the way out here. I think the dents were put in the bed with a forklift, when loading or unloading the snow plow. The "Diesel Dude"-John,
would never reply to my questions about how the dents got in the bed, or to the fact that he had a plow delivered in the truck I bought.
The truck was delivered with a cracked drivers mirror, heater grids that were not hooked up, missing windshield wash tank, leaking vacuum/power steering pump, hole in the bed for stacks, and a gooseneck hitch with the ball cut off flush with a cutting torch. I was ****** about the dents in the bed. He acted like I was just a ing customer... I paid 15,800 for the truck and 1700 to have his guys drive it out. He said he didn't make any money on the deal. Well, **** that is not my problem....I just thought the truck needed to be represented honestly. Maybe I am naive but I paid good money for it. I had to hound him for 3 weeks to send the owners manual that was mentioned to come with the truck. I would have gone out and driven the truck back here....but my son was born during that time.
I put in a new clutch, but at 156K miles that is normal. I put in DDP II injectors
which I am happy with. I will get this truck in shape over time. But I would not
buy another truck from John the Diesel Dude...unless I could test drive it."
