The pump is made by Essex Industries, in St. Louis. It is also sold as an Edelbrock 1792, much cheaper price. The PPE has a revised seal compatible for ULSD, that was implemented by me, then was used in production units by Essex. The only drawback to the unit, is it does not have an induction hardened motor shaft, causing sealing issues in the long term. The plastic rotor will not withstand pressures much more than 12 psi, the D shaped drive end of the shaft, causes a break in the rotor at elevated pressures. I would buy the Edelbrock 1792 and get a National seal #350435, it is nitrile and will stand up to the ULSD, same one that comes in the PPE pump. The factory seal is Viton and expands with aromatics of ULSD. Also to note, the factory seal in the Edelbrock might be installed upside down, that was corrected on later units. These are decent pumps, they don't draw alot of current are fairly quiet and are reasonably priced.
