Some will encourage you not to shut down so quickly as to cause turbo bark, others do it all the time cause they like the noise. Change your fluids in the tranny occasionally, you may want to consider a synthetic fluid and adjust the bands occasionally (instructions are available on this site , or have it done) and your tranny should be good for a long time. But yes these engines have the torque to push these tranny's (In stock form) past it's limits.
