I finished my cooler/egr delete just about an hour ago. Everything went fine. The two exhaust nuts holding the cooler on next to the head are definitely a bit of a pain to get to. I actually used a straight wrench and an air hammer with a V shaped chisel on it to break the front one loose. Worked pretty well. At first I left my egr plugged in, but tied up and the truck didn't run right that way. It was basically like the butterfly was opening and closing causing surging and lurching. I thought I was going to have to remove the butterfly, but instead I just unplugged the egr valve and the surging went away and it runs great. Went for a test drive even with some hard pulls to check the throttle response the lowest it dropped to was about 19.4. Mostly getting close to 20.5 though. I did lose a bolt down in the driver's side fender well, but it was just the one that held the crossover pipe in place in the center.

you can buy the plates right from K2DieselPerformance one of the site sponsers here, comes with new gaskets and specially made plates for this application along with a tube to bypass the coolant passages of the cooler :thumbsup

The new gaskets are really the key here. Some have reused them successfully with RTV, but quite a few guys have had issues with the factory gaskets being blown out or not reusable by the time they are chisled off the manifold.

I have my EGR Tube welded shut and in place with the butterfly flap in horn removed and connecter for butterfly flap unplugged. I am waiting for my DPF Delete and EGR Delete plates. My check motor light is on all the time and gas milage got better but... The RED Light with lighting bolt symbals comes on half of the time and the truck starts running badly.
Codes are:
P0405
P0106
One of the codes reads boost presure rationalty problem.

I can live with the check motor light but this other red light and the way the truck runs after it turns on has got to stop.
Can anyone help me out with my next move.
Thanks,
Jason

Actually it is the EGR sylinoid on top of the Horn that the tube goes into that I have unplugged, are we still talking about the same plug?
