At this point I could ruin the discs and be happy to buy new discs with my pads. Just good luck or is there a difference in brakes? Thanks.
its just good luck and driving style. the axles and brakes are the same

I am in the process of buying an 06 3500 dually for a good price how hard is it to convet it to single rear wheels? I figure i will have to buy a new bed, tires and rims am i missing any thing ar the axels the same between a dually and a single?

Also dont the 3500's have drum brakes on the back where the 2500's have disks

The rear axle is different also. The dually axle is wider. You'll need a bed, and SRW axle.

In the same boat as the OP.

FYI: per a couple door stickers I've snagged off the 'bay the GVW difference is 600#s.

My base decision was the 5.9, but after driving the 6spd auto, I'm considering it as well. But some parts would need to fall off.

The info about not having to pass emissions when over 10k is a hot one. That's a critical piece of information for someone considering the 6.7.
Is this 10k limit nationwide? How can we verify this info?

**edit, well, heck, tried to upload two tiny images and this site refused them. Give me a bit to get them uploaded elsewhere...

Probably has to do with your local codes. I have a Isuzu cab over diesel with a 14,500 gvw and it has to go thru emissions here. So I expect my 3500 with a 10,100 gvw will be going thru it also.

Every single 3500 (srw or drw) I've seen has had cab lights. I too thought that was a standard difference between 2500 and 3500.
