Oh I saw that. . .Remember I said you could have gotten a 19 cent freeze plug? You said you needed to look busy at work.

It's not brass, it's steel. You just tap it in there. It fits pretty snug. I just have to mess with it to see if I can get mine with the hole in it out! If the hole was smaller, I could have put a sheet metal screw in it and pryed it out. Now with the 5/16 hole, I dunno. I'm going to try to get a bolt in there with a chineese finger I guess.

Now where did I hide that mig welder?

So it's snug enough that's there is no worries of if pushing out? Thank again for being a test dummy, and stop staring at me!!. Oh, and I'm sure you put it on the passenger side, but is it in the crossover tube itself, or the tube off the cooler right before it connects to the crossover.

Ahha. I just looked at slags pics again, and seen his is in the crossover tube. Probably don't really matter, as long as it's there.

Hard telling where peeping toms like yourself might put a plug. But I did know it's supposed to go in the tube, just wasn't sure where in the tube.

Do any of you have a sensor on the driver's side of the crossover tube? Mine has one, in addition to the EGR Butterfly servo motor plug.

After looking at all pics that I could find, even the post that pointed out which to unplug, mine has a sensor that is not in the pics. I guess that it is a temp sensor.

Does anybody know how this complicates everybody's tests?

I tried the EGR unplug trick, with bad results. I was pulling my trailer. I ran a full tank (52 gals) with it unplugged. It bucked, snorted, stumbled, hesitated, and got 4 mpgs less. The OHC said 5.9-6.1 MPGs!

On the next tank, I plugged it back in. All of the performance problems went away, and the MPGs went back to where they were (9.5-10.2 MPGs).

What does this extra sensor do? Many of us pull a trailer and claim a MPG gain with it unplugged?

Thanks..... Rhyno

The EGR on the C&C is different than on the pickups that we're describing.

I machined a small lip on the plug so that it can't push through the tube. others have cut a taper on the plug for the same reason.

That's where you have the advantage over my idea. But it works. I have to uncover my lathe from all the junk piled on it

That's a C & C set up. I have not had one long enough to look at. Not sure what the differences are just yet. It's too hard to determine in the factory manual too
