Dirty Turbo @ 14 K
2007 SLT 2500 Hd 6.7 turbo had a check engine light come on and off dealer said I had a dirty turbo at 14K! they said they had to order a kit to drill and tap the turbo an install this "kit" so they could clean it first if no work then replace ! at 14K! sounds like crap to me anyone had this prob? can you do a EGR delete without doing DPF delete? Thanks |

No that is the way dodge is handling it. With the new emissions system most everyone is having that problem. Soot builds up in the turbo from the regen cycle, and clogs it up. then it needs to be cleaned. Or you can go drive it nice and hard and it will blow its self out. Which is why your light will come on and go back off.

uhhh... your lucky you got 14k before it happened. my original turbo was replaced at around 5000 miles, then a month or so ago it was cleaned along with the dpf @ 11K. tons of people are having this problem. if you want a permanent solution, get rid of the factory exhaust (dpf, nox, cat) and delete the egr. sometimes you can dive it out, but usually you'll wind back up the dealer getting a cleaning and being without your truck fow a couple days.

2007.5 3500SLT, Mega Cab, DRW, 4x4, 6.7l g56, entire exhaust fell off had to replace with 5"ss turbo back, oh yeah, the egr/egr cooler blocked off somehow. S&B cai. edge w/ attitude. Valair's new 12.25 DD w/ HD Hydraulics. sure runs good now! |
