turbo cut out at 1600 rpm after turbo cleaning

i just got my truck back from the dealer a couple of weeks ago after getting a new dpf and a drill and tap turbo cleaning . when i picked up the truck the e brake wouldn't work at all in the dealer lot . i got it out on the road and tried it a few times and it began to work . it is working fine now but has one small hick up once in a while at 1600 rpms . when using the e brake , it does just fine until it reaches 1600 rpm and the brake will cut out until it reaches 1500 rpm then works fine until the regular 1100 rpm cut off . it doesn't happen all the time , just some times . the truck is running great otherwise . i was just curious as to what could be causing this . anybody know ?

Did they do a cleaning or did they reflash? When mine had issues, they just reflashed it and gave it back to me. My truck cuts off at 1600rpm as well.. and reengages a little later.

lol.. that is exactly what mine was doing pre mods. had it reflashed and the ebrake started doing that. realized when i installed my edge that it was only doing that while in regen!! which happened to be a couple times a day because i do mostly city driving and it was never completing a regen cycle. next time it does that, reset your overhead mpg and i'll put money on it your in regen getting 8-9 mpg! my problems went away a couple weeks ago when my exhaust dropped off the truck along with the egr. truck has NEVER run better and the e-brake is as strong (and loud) as an ox, all the way down to the 1100 cutoff.

i just read about this on another forum and they said the same thing . it comes with the reflash and only happens during regen .

i pulled my fifth wheel for the first time after the turbo cleaning this weekend . if it is regening when the turbo cuts out between 1600 and 1500 , then it regened twice on a 55 mile trip while pulling in the mountains . i don't like the turbo cut out while going down a steep grade at all . just when i would slow down for a curve , the ebrake would cut off at 1600 and i would have to get on the brakes . i'm just about ready to delete all this crap .

i assure you it is while it's regening!! it is tied to speed and temperture. i believe below 45mph mine would not go into regen. once above that it would start and stay on for awhile but if speed and temps dropped for long it would stop. i absolutely hated that cutting out. i tow a trailer everyday and it sucks having to midify your driving habits depending on whether or not your in regen. getting rid of the emissions system (turbo back, egr and egr cooler delete, edge, & cai) was the best thing i could have ever done. i wish i had done it the day i bough it and eleviated the only headaches i've had with this thing. runs great now, and exhaust brake is strong as can be, all the way down to the 1100 cutoff!

This is the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.

Mine just went in for a CEL and they told me they are going to do the Idle regen (there goes $75 in fuel) and clean the turbo (drill and tap). Think I can get the dealer to fill up the tank? I told them I didn't want my turbo drilled and tapped and they sent out the Service Mngr. got to talk to him for a bit and I asked him about warranty and pulling the emissions crap off. He was kool about it saying that they don't look for reasons to void warranties. so my dilemma is whether to pursue a lemon law or spend more money on this money pit and get the deletes. What do you guys think?

actually when mine was cleaned and they did a forced regen, my tech said chrysler will pay for fuel. it's not enough, but it was something. i believe if memory serves me correct, it was like 4 gallons or something (which at the time equated to around $18). better than nothing. wish dodge would have just given all of the money they spent replacing the first turbo, cleaning second turbo, cleaning dpf, & reflashing god knows how many times, to just put toward all of the good aftermarket parts i had to buy to get this thing running like a real truck!

just got the truck back from the dealer. after the drill/tap and plug my EB still runs all the way down to 1000-1100 w/o interruption. they also said the did the latest flash but, couldn't tell me which one. They just gave me the TSB# 11-002-07. anyone know which flash that is?

i think aq for the '08. how far have you driven it since you've had it back. you may not have gone into regen yet, so the eb may be working normally.
