6.7L PowertrainDiscussion of components that are directly involved in the power production and all that is needed to get and keep the truck moving . Engine, Transmission, etc...NO ADVERTISING
id agree with no matter what trans you have ,you put more power than recomended its going to have weak points, speaking of fords with manuals, they must still use them cause a daddys boy at school just got him a 6.4 with a 5speed n a crap load of parts on it already and as for the allision,i bought one,was going to do the conversion, after finding out hte cost to do that, it got sold. i could buy a built 47re for the conversion price. although i havent ridden in a new 6 speed dodge auto yet, id say the allision shifts pretty well compaired to others but like i said you add power to anything and it will show its weak points, a kid at my school put an intake exhaust n a PPE tuner on it took it to the track n ran a 14.4 with just those three things, but the funny thing is he said his truck went into limp mode rolling through the traps and his tranny was slipping. his truck is an 05 cb sb .w 100+k miles. nothing lasts forever thats why theres mechanics
Yes it may squeak by at a few more hp and lbs torque at high rpm but the Cummins handles the big loads with ease when the Duramax is blowing hot air. We don't care that they have a little more power on paper. We have more power when we need it.
I have a 07.5 6.7 cummins, i drive a 03 f450 powerstroke at work and my boss has a 07 duramax. There all stock. ive drove the duramax a few times and compared to my cummins that thing is like driving my wifes jette.......GUTLESS. Ive also pulled our bobcat with them both and its night and day the cummins handles it 10 times better
