I also notcied that my 5 gal gerry can that I normaly put used oil is starting to fill with sludge at the bottom of the can. My oil does not smell like diesel. I think the people that oil that smells like diesel need to get there trucks in and get them repaired. The rest of us that have stock trucks just have to live with the rising oil due to soot that is being carried by the oil. I have been debating about installing an oil bypass system to help clean the oil. I think if I do this I will still change the oil on regular schedule.
That means the soot would show in an oil sample....In fact it would be flagged very bad

I cuncur, since I did my deletes(at 500 miles) I put 10,000 miles on and there was no rise in oil in that time, just changed it.

Didn't read all the older posts, but mine had the same problem of rising oil on the dipstick. Now with 35K miles on it, it has significantly mellowed out. I think it just really needs to break-in to get the rings seated well... unfortunately the oil is still black until I do the deletes.

Have you read the whole thread? These were the posts that i was laughing at, not laughing at the guys that posted them, but at the actual post itself. I just thought that they were funny posts about an injected fuel AFTER the turbo. One guy says that he thinks it is and the other guy says it IS injected AFTER the turbo, It struck me kinda funny that it WAS A FACT because HE said so.

mike; i guess i did poor job of what i was reffering to. i was relating to the whole topic of high oil. i read all the posts as far back as thay go. my point after reading was that it was a serious issue. so i got the wrong meaning from your post. i apologize. absolutely dont want to make any enimies or cause hard fellings.
