Bought a new 6.7 about a month ago. I have about 1,600 miles on it and having issues already. Went to the home repair store yesterday and it ran fine. Came out and started it to leave and noticed it was really noisy. Went to leave the parking lot and it had no throttle response at all. Suddenly it takes off like a rocket and sounds fine. Pulled up to a stop sign and it became real noisy again and the turbo spun up like crazy (like when the engine brake is working). Took off from the stop sign, again, no throttle response and felt like it was running on 4 cylinders. Feeling a bit concerned, I went straight to the dealer. They confirmed the problem but had no reason why or what was causing it. Cycling the key seemed to cure the problem but that solution doesn't work for me. Anyone else had problems of this kind? Dealer told me they weren't sure, it was the first one they had worked on...lucky me. Any help would be fantastic. Thanks, Chris
the same thing was happening to me. start it up and it knocks and rattles like a 12V, and no throttle response at all. took it to the dealership they did the new flash and have no problems since the flash. i hope it is cured but only time will tell.
I was wondering what Dealer you purchased your truck from. I bought mine from Dave Smith in Kellogg, Idaho. I am having problems as you are and am wanting to know the out come from the dealer. Are they fixing the problem or just getting you out of the way. I have 1,700 miles on truck.
I had the same issue, spent three weeks back and forth with the dealer. You need to take it back in and have them reset the computer with a new code. There is a recall on all 2007 dodge 6.7 for that code. It deals with the fuel timming and injection. The code on mine is TSB-18-19-04-34. Try that and hopefully it will work. On a differt topic, hows your fuel milage? i have a 07' mega cab and get 10-11 mpg and am not very happy about it.
they is no recall for this tsb a tsb is not a recall where did you come up with is tsb number i looked on my dealer connect i could not come up with it!
Well now! It looks like there is a recall of some sorts to reprogram the ecu. I talked to a knowledgeable guy who was sweeping the garage floor, and he said that the reprogram is the first thing to do with the problem. Also there is a soot filter in the exhaust system that may be clogging. The filter goes through a prosess that clean's it's self every so often. The system was made for towing and highway use mostly, so city driving will not get the thing hot enough to clean the thing out, this is called restriction of your exhaust gasses leaving the engine. Now you might say that I am full of it, but that makes sence to me. My fuel milage was going up to around 16 mpg just before this all came about. with 1,700 miles on the engine, break in is not complete. the dealer said 2,000 miles for break in but, with so close of tolerence's, it may take longer. I was also told that the engines really don't get real good mileadge till thay reach 100,000 miles.
Just called the Dodge dealer and confirmed with them, that the codes are correct. They just fixed it a month ago and he said that Dogde hasent even sent out the bullitin for this code yet. TSB-18-19-04-34
I just got back from the dealership and I asked why they weren't issuing a recall for these problems, and they said they may in the future but for now it was a case by case basis. My truck is starting to do the same thing. As soon as i get time I am going to take mine in to have it reflashed.
