Low mileage 6.7 driveability problems - Page 4

Well it has been over a week now and not a problem has appeared. The engine runs fine but in town mileage is 13 to 14 mpg, at 2,200 miles on the vieicle.

Here we go again. The check engine light came on again, even after the new code install. It went off after a day and a half. Seems it only comes on when I have gone up in the hills to 4 wheel inb the mountians? don't tell me you cand drive slow with this truck, only Hwy and haul ? I was told that the engine will not burn down from a stuck EGR valve , so I kept driving it and the light went off the next day ? Go figure

Mine is a little over a month old now with 4700mi. and the only thing I've noticed is that it idles a little louder now, than when the salesman said "see how quiet it is". I was going to ask the dealer why, some day, but this ECM flash thing has got me concerned now. What is it for? I've had no recall notices.

Out of curiosity, what makes the truck a 07.5 opposed to 07? Is it the date manufactured? If so where can I find this date at?

I found a date on the door frame label. 5/07 so I guess that makes mine just an 07

hi yes i dont have any problem with my .i have a quick question for you do you have any cummins dealer near you. you can take to a cummins if is engine problem and you will be cover for factory warranty car dealer is not the same went come to this mater they dont deal with to many diesel engine like cummins does on daily baces.good luck. isx

Got mine back Friday, it was some kind of low pressure turbo error this time. Ran fine all weekend, but check engine light came on about an hour ago. Taking it back for the 4th time.

Oatie, I have an 6.7 mega auto 3.73's auto and i get about 13 combination, i have had up to 21.7 on hwy.. on 65 mph cruise, so the truth is that it's your foot, and if you absolutely want better fuel mileage and it has to be a diesel, get a jetta TDI, just my .02 I have them both.. I get 48 mpg on my jetta tdi, at 85 mph cruise control..

Since your truck is a 6.7L it is considered an 07.5. The 2007 trucks with the 5.9L are the 07s.

I was at the dealership yesterday evening, and they were telling everyone with the 6.7 to run with the exhaust brake on all the time. Something about carbon build up in the variable turbo slides that causes a check engine light.

I always run with the ebrake on. I wonder if there is an option the dealer can flip on to have it always on and then just turn it off when you don't want it?
