bad u joint

I have a question. Have a friend with a 6.7 09. the rear u joint is bad. He said he thought it was held in by a plastic dhal. How do you get the u joint off.

They look to be pined in, I was looking at that the other day. I was also amaized they didnt have any greese zirk....Wonderfull Dodge

this is on my truck and i see the pins, just wondering if it,d be easier to heat the shaft to melt the pins or try and just use a u joint press and snap them off

you heat it and it will come out it is not just a pin it is all the way around in a grove have to heat

Good Luck! I have changed one of these and it is a real pain. I have also taken one to a driveline shop (money WELL spent). Spicer Makes a joint that will fit nicely that is greasable I'm sure someone will chime in with part numbers

Well that'd be nice if i could find one that was greaseable, this one only lasted me 8 months but i have put almost 40k on it, and talkin to some local 6.7 owners its not very rare for them to go out that early

Oh by the way its the where the rear drive shaft connects to the rear end, if anyone has any info on where i can get a non oe one
