I have mine on a timer. It comes on at 3 a.m. and I fire it up around 7 a.m. It draws quite a bit of power while it's on. Go look at your power meter before and after to see the difference. I relocated the plug with a marine quality shoreline receptacle in the center of the plastic piece at the bottom of the bumper. I've forgotten to unplug a couple of times before taking off, and it just pulls out without a problem...SC

Mine pulls over 10 amps and has since the day I bought it. The cord and cap are even stamped for 1450 watts. so every hour I leave mine on I would draw about 1.4kwhr.

Give you an idea if you turned on about 11 60 watt light bulbs it would equal the 5.6 amps jon recorded on his. I have checked mine over and over. I even talked to the dealer and cummins about it. They all said it is normal.

I run mine 7/24 when the truck is not running.
It runs about 120 - 130 degree in winter and 140 - 150 in the summer weather.
As I am on call I do not have time to wait for the truck to warm up, I just get in and go.
Anyone who runs a block heater has most likely driven off with it plugged in at least once. LOL
