What is this stuff ?

What is this white crap at around the oil fill hole ?

Looks like you cleaned the motor? And its soap resadue? Or its just condensation I would assume...

Seems like that is common on the 6.7's. I was told that it is coolant.

I tried to pull my 5x8 utility trailer yesterday .. the 4 pin connector is hosed ... I have an appointment on Monday .. while its in I will ask what it is ... and provide their answer ..

I haven't heard or seen that on any 6.7's but that can't be good having coolant there.

I have. Look at some of the Howto's and you see the same white stuff all over that cover.

Looks like a puddle of the dried engine dressing dealers use to make the engine look new or "wet". If they use too much it will puddle and leave a residue that looks like that.

Just messin. I've seen that before too might just be soap that got splashed up there then dried when washen your truck

My suggestion would be to check your oil,If it looks good then clean the cap and valve cover and drive it.check it one more to see if it reoccurred.I really think its nothing to get worked up over though.

It's just hard water spots that didn't get wiped dry when the motor was washed.
