Runs like crap what is wrong??

My truck has been running with my current set up for over 40k miles and here recently it has started acting weird. At first it started to miss every once in a while and I just thought it was because it was cold. Now it has become to where its smoking like a freight train and has no power at all hardly! If you rev it up it pops like my old 12v does on cold start up. The only other thing I noticed is the exhaust brake quit working. Anyone else had this problem?? Or know what it is?? I did change the fuel filter and it didnt help

Mass airflow cleaner works good. I always use non-clorinated brake cleaner.

So you are getting a 3/4 ton Chevy Gas Suburban instead. I don't see how that fixes the problem??

Smile

Why are you not taking it to your dealership. It could be very minor, and if it is turbo related doesn't it fall under extended warrenty as far also as emission related or engine related.

I have had things like this happen. After looking around, I found exhaust gasses leaking through the gasket at the back of the exhaust manifold. The gasket connected the EGR to the Exhaust manifold. After tightening the two nuts ( I think they were 15mm) the problems were fixed. Check it out.

I hope this helps...
