You can do a grid heater delete but I'd never get my truck warmed up (or started) without it in the winter unless I put in an espar or webasto heater....but thats $$$ I don't have. My truck doesn't like -30 as it is. Without the grid heater?....ugh.

Take the 6 bolts out of the intake horn and there is the grid heater... I live in Oklahoma so winters aren't so bad so I am eventually going to take the grid out but if you live north your truck might have problems warming up. When I cleaned mine I used a screw driver and shop vac to get the clumps out then rag and brake cleaner... There is a thread on here someware ill find that shows a complete removal and reinstall of a new grid heater delete... I also found a pic of mine when I removed the intake horn

-40?

This Texas boy couldnt even begin to imagine that kinda cold. If we get a few nights at 28f each winter we consider that a cold night.

You northern frozen folks are tougher than me! I wouldnt last a week and move back south.
