Do you realize you defeated the Loctite by retightening? You broke the dried glue apart.
Loctite is meant to remove the need for retightening.

I would buy a mechanical stop for the bit if you drill the pan with it on the truck. The mechanical stop is just a thick piece of round steel with a small hole in the center for the bit. It should have one or two set screws in it to lock against the bit. This way if the bit catches it will not drive it self into the tranny and cause some real damage.

I don't think I defeated anything. I re torqued to the same value as I originally used. If a fastener turned during re-torque, then the loctite did not work in the first place, right?

Why do you guys always try to one up D2B? With all of his experience, even if it is trial and error, he is pretty much the guru around here. Using loctite means never having to re-tork, set it and forget it. If you have to re-tork, you didn't do it right the first time.
