07 Problems??

I am looking to buy a 07 3500 dually mega 6.7 with under 10k miles for $34K. First Dodge I will ever own. Too many chevy friends and they say 07 was a bad year. It was built early 07. I will be towing a large 10K # travel Trailer and using for work everyday. Do about a 100 miles a day and a lot of 800 mile trips with trailer and without. What kind of mileage can I expect without trailer. ANd any problems with this year. Truck is in great shape, was used to tow boat only.

well to start there are a ton of flashes some help i have a 07.5 i have had some problems random check engine lights but since my last flash i have been trouble fee besides some turbo soot problems. Oh and a clutch bit the dust at 14000 miles i have also had the cruise control quit. I have 4:10s and a manual and i get 11mpg hand calculated pulling a skid loader. $34k seems high i bought my truck new 4x4 4 door big horn every option besides navigation and sunroof for 33K. I dont know how much more a mega is worth???

I have an 07.5 and ZERO problems so far. @87K

AS far as mpg I was getting 19mpg w/stock tires, 15-16 w/305-65-17's and 20 w/305's and deletes. All hand calc'd and overall, no towing.

I have an 07 bought in Oct of 07 and have had turbo soot problems but just had it to dealer for engine light and got it back late today and will call tomorrow for details. Tow 9K from CT to NV and back. Just arrived in NV last Saturday and engine light came on leaving Sieligman AZ on Sat morning. It is a 2500 4x4 quad cab lst 6sp auto hd with 3.73 gears. Have had no other problems. Tech person stated new program but had one updated before leaving CT. Should not happen when truck is working as hard during trip to NV.

Mine has 75k...all is well, but I am sure the deletes helped out....I dont think the 07 has any problems any of the other 6.7 have as long as you get the updated flashes. If you do the deletes you will never have a problem and you will get 4mpg better!

When I bought my 07.5 in April 07, I had check engine lights about every 1800-2200 miles. After numerous cleanings, flashes, etc. They put in a new turbo and flash update in January of this year with 22K miles on the truck. I am now at 33K without having any issues.

After the latest flash, my mileage went down slightly. I used to get over 19 on my trips between Winston Salem and Pittsburg. Now I am lucky to get 18 mpg. I usually get about 15-16mpg in my local driving around Winston Salem.
Towing my 9500 lb fifth wheel, I get 10mpg if I keep the speed down to 60.

07.5 mega, 6.7, 6 speed auto, all stock
