I don't think so. They are getting them from a dealer, I got that from them on the phone when ordering. They are just willing not to make as much profit as some.

According to the FleetGuard web site:
FS43257 is the Filter and Shell for $45.11
Search by Fleetguard Number FS43257, Fleetguardfilterstore.com

FS43258 is the filter element for $32.36
Search by Fleetguard Number FS43258, Fleetguardfilterstore.com

The notes indicate the filters will not be available until September but I have a local Fleetgurad supply house and I need to stop by.

I got 3 FS43257 and 5 FS43258 back at the start of August. Purchased from local Fleetgaurd dealer. Price was $50 for 57 and 30ish for the 58. Lube filters were about 8 bucks a pop I think.

Buying Mopar is a waste. Just rebranded and price jacked up.

Why did you buy 3 of the 57's, can't we just reuse the shell over and over with a new filter ???

I like to have spares.
I have a complete fuel filter and housing in my truck just in case. Bad fuel, housing splits (happened already) whatever. Also have a spare oil filter, and filter for my slip tank.
Then I have all the other fuel and oil filters in the garage under my bench. I currently have the old style on my truck, so next change I will have new canister and filter. Leaving me one spare in the garage!

Sounds like me, when I sold my 2000 I gave the guy a sepentine belt, trans filter, 8-oil filters and 6-fuel filters. Fleetguard likes us I guess

Yeah, I suppose.
When the housing split on my fuel filter, it was Saturday night of a long weekend. So nobody was open till Tuesday. And they usually had to order my fuel filters in. If I didn't have a spare then, I would have been parked for several days.
Just some of the stuff that keeps me up at night!

So the Fleetguard FS43257 is the canister that can be reused and FS43258 is the replacement cartridge for it? You don't have to buy the Mopar fuel filter that can only be used once?

So what is causing the housing on the new filter to break. Thanks

I put the new style on this past weekend and learned the hard way that they changed the filter canister! Had to run to two dodge stealerships to get a replacement filter for $74. I actually ordered the filter and canister from Geno's but they accidently shipped just a replacement filter (new style). Becasue of the mistake they not only refunded me the money but sent me a second spare filter. Now thats great service.

I dont know about them splitting but the old style the female 1/2 drive on the bottom of the canister works one way action only, taking it off without a strap wrench is darn near impossible. The drain once opened broke the o-ring and it just leaked like a sieve. The new style, it appears, that they fixed these issues.
