fuel filter change

To the person who was responsible for the fuel filter design change for the 6.7L. I hope you get VD and yer unit falls off!!!

The 5.9 design worked fine and a change was possible in a snow storm at -40*

bad fuel and cold weather go together here and fuel filter changes have to happen on the side of the road sometimes. Now with my new 08 I also have to carry bath supplies and a change of clothes too.

I went to Autozone today to get a fuel filter. $82 is what they wanted. Saw other posts online quoting $13 at the dealership and seeing units averaging $20 online.

Do these machines really need that frequent of fuel filter changes? I remember my 1987 Z28 Camaro could go 100k miles and not have a filter replacement.

My 5.9L Durango still has the stock filter and it now has 150k miles.

Diesel is a different animal, and yes the filters need to be replaced about every other oil change, maybe sooner depending on the quality of the desiel in your area. Also, the filter needs to have the blead valve open to have any water removed that might be in there every few thousand miles or so.
