6.7s EVERYONE READ Before posting!
6.7s for new people Below is a list of useful terms and Definitions for the new 6.7l Diesel. DPF Diesel Particulate Filter Combonation of 3 filters in the Exhaust on the 6.7 Regen Regeneration Process in which Diesel Fuel is injected into the Exhaust stroke of the engine causing enough heat to burn out the soot buildup in the DPF. There is both Passive and Active Regens. Active is where the Diesel is injected to create the heat needed, only done when the truck is not allowed to passively regen. Passive regen occurs when the truck is run hard enough to create the heat needed to burn the filters out without the added Diesel Injection. EGR Exhaust Gas Recirculation System that uses exhaust gas pumped back into the intake of the engine to reduce NOx emissions. DPF Delete Kit that includes piping and a fooler box. Current Fooler boxes tap into the 3 EGT probes in the exhaust pipe and trick the computer into thinking that the truck is in a state of constant Passive Regeneration. The piping included has bungs welded in to accept the factory sensors. So far there are 2 companies with working kits out and both are site sponsors. For more information contact Bay Area Diesel Performance or H&S Performance. They both have their own section in the sponsors area.:thumbsup EGR Delete The process of removing and disabling the EGR system on the truck. Its currently being done with only blocker plates. No fooler has been released yet for it. Shimming the Fuel Relief Valve This is a process that goes along with the install of the MP-8 module. You remove the FRV and pull it apart, install shims and press it back together. By doing this you raise the Relief Pressure of the Fuel Rail. VGT - Variable Geometry Turbo - The VGT has a Sliding Nozzle on the Exhaust side of the turbo. Its controlled by the ECM. The sliding nozzle is used to control boost. Exhaust Brake - A by-product of the VGT. By activating it the Nozzle moves to the close position creating added back pressure on the engine functioning as a Compression brake, similar to the big rigs. MP-8 Module - This Product is made by TS Performance. Its Best used as a Mileage chip and is very commonly stacked with almost any other programmer. More will be added as required.

good post. make it sticky. i must have read 1000 pages before making my first post so i wouldn't sound stupid. i know we are here to give help, and recieve help, but it just seems foolish that in the middle of a dpf delete post someone is asking what or where the dpf is. i'm not trying to discourage people from asking, because i'm glad to help it i can, but this post will help. make it sticky.

Should have to be read twice by anyone with a 6.7 who signs up for this forum with a 24 hour period between readings and before they can post. ol3 Sadly I think a lot of people are getting their first taste of a vB forum on here with the various 6.7 issues so we can yell to loudly at the folks who don't search.
