64/14/71 as a Single and in Twins

A 64/14/71 will run great on the 6.7 as a single. But my question is if you use it in a compound setup with a S480 will it react differently. Or will the 64 spool just as it does as a single. Assuming all of this is with the stock fuel system except for the lift pump. I know you wont see the full benefit from the S480 unless you have the injectors and CP3 to push enough fuel. But it should still pretty darn good a truck with stock CP3 and Injectors, right?

Because this is the route that I am thinking about when I have the money. Because what every I do I want the VGT to end up in the garbage. I do not want that sucker on my truck at all. I am un decided if I will ever upgread the fuel system but if I do I want to already have enough turbo to do it. I don't like buying stuff twice.

I was wondering the same thing....

Except i was wondering about the II Silver Bullet 66/14/74 for a single right now, then topping with S-480...

I also don't like buying stuff twice.......LOL

So, since I'm pretty sure I don't have a blown HG, I am going with ARP 625's just to be safe & adding 120hp nozzles. Then trying to decide on doing an EWG or just saving and going with II SB66 then getting Buck to build me a twins setup with an S480 later on down the road...

the spool time should be about the same, maybe a little quicker. It isn't going to get as high of a delta P across the turbine housing so that will slow it down some, but it is going to be getting air forced into it by the biggen below it which will make up for the loss from the turbine side.

I am running a 64/71/14 over the top of my S400. It works great. I would guess it would take a little more to spool the S480 but if you add the fuel and supporting mods it should be a great setup. I would like to jump to a 475 or 480 on the bottom at some point.

Hey Chris...Do you think a 66/14/74 would be too much for a top turbo spoiling up n S-480?

With a silver 66 the s480 would be begging for fuel

Now you're talkin, though that boost level would be boarding on what Browns said fire rings would be in order. Eric said for daily driving the 64-66 is pretty ideal for a top charger, and depending on how big you want to go a 480 or a 480 race cover. I talked with him and he said the 66 could support up to about a 595 on the bottom, which is the setup I'm planning as soon as I can unload my 03 truck.

HOLY $H*T!!! That's a HUGE snail!

So, would I be better to get a 64 or 66 for now and running say....120hp injectors?

Also, will a stock turbo & cP3 handle 120's? Or is 90 about the biggest you want to go for stock turbo? What if I have it wastegated to relieve excess DP....Then can I run 120's?

If so, what would be the best sizes for everything? 66/14/74??? What do yall think?

Sorry for all the questions...but I'm just curious as to what I can do for now that won't cost me an arm and a leg.....LOL
