6.7 turbo's blowing up

Ok so i guy from my town told me that his friend has a 6.7 with 30,000 miles on it and has went threw 3 turbo's from tunning it and told me not to chip my 6.7 is he full of or are the 6.7 turbo's not holding up????????

I doubt that your friend is actually doing any damage to the turbo, he probably doesnt have his egr deleted so he is just clogging them up like crazy with soot. If you delete the dpf and egr you will not have any problem with the turbo. Other than needing a bigger one once you start to really mod your truck. The turbos work great with a small tuner. But with anything that really adds a lot of fuel you will eventually need bigger/better turbo to provide the motor with more air.

just get a 6.7L, do all the deletes, dont "chip it" but program it and you will smile everyday

What Farmboy said. And go out in the next two minutes and unplug your EGR. Free, easy, and really keeps from messing up a whole bunch of things on your engine. MAP sensor IAT sensor, grid heater, turbo, and the whole exhaust system.

Poor use of the term chipping. The GM's use a memory chip. You can buy a performance tuned chip and replace it. The Dodge programs the memory inside the ECM.

Just to be complete, there is a fooler available as well. It runs its own program and modifies the amount and timing of the addition of fuel. It is called the Edge. The programmers are the Smarty S67 and the H and S XRT (Extreme Race Tuner) as well as the H and S Black Maxx and Mini Maxx (not out yet)

The programmers add more power and allow you to take the smog stuff off the truck without throwing codes. The Edge will clear the codes on startup.

Mines hooked up and all not clogged or messed up... Im not unplugging my egr and loosing hp to gain mpg lol
