New Smarty Is Broken

Well not broken but it says UNKNOWN SOFTWARE Now before i get told to update it,hold on a sec. I just had the newest flash put on the truck and James put the new 16 S on it, and IT ALREADY LOADED SW#5 JUST FINE. The problem is now, it WONT let me change anything or go back to stock.It will only read DTCs. I called James, hes stumped too.

I doubt it, HE IS AT SEMS THIS WEEK
I called him but his phone is forwarded to ? someone. They didnt have any answers for me. They said that they have never heard of this one before.
James at RSD said the4 same thing too.

OK i talked to Bill at SOURCE?? and he had me go out and try something to get some info from the smarty. I did that and he said Bob and Marco are both at SEMA and they would look at the info i got Bill. Hopefully someone will know something. While i was in the truck, i tried again to return to stock, NO LUCK , STILL DEAD.

so the truck is dead or just the smarty i get mine tomorrow hopefully and hope i dont have the same prob tryin to follow your threads since were both staying stock for now how does it run on 5?

The truck runs great, its stuck on sw# 5 and the smarty is froze up or something because it just keeps saying UNKNOWN SOFTWARE. I cant return to stock or anything but read codes. The truck is running though.

go to the mads site and update the smarty to the newest version of software, could just be that the truck has newer tune on it than the smarty came with

i have never heard of this either mike, i have put different softwares on my smarty, that my truck didnt reconize, but never had it programmed up, and then didnt reconize it, this is new to me...

cant do that, he will loose his trucks stock software, and no way to recover it...

Have you tried disconnecting both batteries and touching the cables together to discharge the system before attempting a download to the vehicle? Possible ECM reset.

Can the Smarty be returned to software 15S by chance?

I hate to say it but I haven't run across this one either.

I just got it yesterday and James loaded the latest AS into it , my truck also has the AS on it from the dealer. James, Bill at Source? and others have said... this is new to them too.
