some dealers out there like to say any air intake upgrade voids the warrenty.(BS)
when i had a front crank case oil leak i to it to the dealer and called crystler directly and the man i talked to said my egr block and 5"TBE would not void my warrenty.
i assume because exhaust dosnt fall under powertrain.
but i can almost guarentee the warrenty on my dpf is shot

I don't think anything with the '09's really makes any difference other than the Bootloader software that blocks the ECM's on the 3/4/09's and newer, and the EGR cooler delete plates are shaped different on '09's.

Anyway.......My suggestion is: Smarty (which does leave footprints...virtually ALL programmers & downloaders will in one form or another), 5"TBE exhaust, AFE Mega-Cannon II air intake, BOD Intake horn, AirDog II 150 lift-pump, EGR cooler delete plates.

That would make a dang good start for both making big power and/or making good fuel-mileage gains.

Hey Folks,

I wanted to revive this thread. Been doing a TON of searching and reading, but it appears with the build date of my ride (08/09), I am pretty restricted to what I can do.

So, with this build date, can I run the Edge Juice with Attitude, or do I need to run the Edge Evolution? I am not really looking to get a ton of HP, but do want to get rid of the EGR and DPF crapola. Will either of these give me error free functionality with EGR and DPF deletes?

I have been looking at the Edge products mostly due to the added benefit of additional gauges and the Turbo Timer.

Also, I see a couple of new players on the market (Black Maxx and Mini Maxx). Will any of these work with the newer build date?

You can unplug the EGR valve for free. It throws a code and a CEL. Just leave it there. Plug the EGR back in and the code will go away after a few starts.

The Edge is not as popular on this forum as are the XRT, Smarty, and now the Black/Mini Maxx. The Edge is the only one that will work on your truck at this time. The others are hard at work to find a solution. There is a thread on here about testing on the Bully Dog PMT with the new version. However, many on here do not have much faith in Bully Dog as they had some real problems with the PMT.

The Edge cannot make you code free, it can clear codes. I have one and I like it a lot. So much so that when I use the XRT for code free deletes, I am going to load the stock program so I can still use my edge for power change on the fly as well as turbo timer and defueling.

Thanks for the reply....will likely try the EGR unplug, but was under the impression that without a full delete (+ DPF delete), it can cause "fouling" (for lack of a better term) issues?

After doing a BUNCH of reading, yes, I understand the Edge is not as popular, but I think with the build date of my truck, I am pretty limited (something to do with a Boot Loader or some type of encryption in the ECM).

In the end what I really want is to be able to do full deletes of DPF and EGR and run error free (not sure this is even possible!).......

On a more serious note try some of the things suggested in the previous posts, you'll be glad you did.
