Air Dog question

I am getting ready to upgrade to an Airdog filter setup. I am confused as to the difference between the Airdog 150 and the Airdog 2. The Airdog 2 says it is preset to 5 psi. Is that a good thing? I'm confused because the Airdog 150 says it is preset to 15-17psi. Is the Airdog 2 worth the extra money?

I have the Air Dog 2 165 and it was preset at 21psi. The 165 comes with an adjustable regulator which is nice if you see different climates like I do.

I researched this for a while before buying a month ago! For the extra $100.00 for the AD II you get a adjustable psi regulator & low return fuel due to the AD II only drawling as much fuel as the motor demands. So you can use the original return line without cutting into the filler neck for the return line fitting. Also due to the low amount of return fuel you get less fuel foaming(a.k.a hot fuel). For the extra $100.00 bucks i took advantage of the AD II since i was already going to spend $500.00 for the AD 100 or AD 150. As for FP i set mine to 17psi for my VP44 i don't know what your 6.7 calls for. Go with the AD II & set it to what ever you need.

What are the limits to the PSI settings (ie low 5 psi and high 40 psi)? I saw a new unit from airdog that delivers 30psi all the time. Wicked Diesel said that if you supply more pressure to the cp3 it will last longer not to mention give a little boost in power as well.

Well, it a aftermarket fuel pump system that had water/fuel filters for increased filtration and cleaner fuel. It runs 1/2 fuel hose from your tank straight to your CP3. The AirDog is preset at 15-17 psi or can be adjusted on the AirDog II.

I run the AirDog and at wide open throttle the psi never drops like it will on a factory setup when the throttle is mashed.

Im running the airdog 2 and its nice cause you can set the psi you want and it elemnates any 1/4 tank issues that you could face with the regular AD. I run mine at 23 psi and on a wot run it will drop to the lowest 20 psi. So its pretty stable.

Good question. Guess it all depends on your mods you have with it and of course driving habits.
