Well I went ahead and took mine out, it took about 45minutes. Pretty simple really just remove the turbo housing. Take a punch and punch the pins down as far as they will go then the drill bit will fit right down inside the whole and it will be lined up right on the pin. Just drill a little on each one, then take a big flate screw driver and from the back side place it on the lip and gentley hit it with a hammer, move all the way around the ring gentley hitting it untill it falls out. No damage to the ring or housing. Fits back in very easily and sits nice and snug so if you decide to replace it. Over all I could not tell any difference in power. Turbo is ALOT louder! Spools up pretty well the same as before.

undo the intecooler piping on the turbo take off the air filter. there is a ring between each housing loosen that and wiggle it a little and it should come right out. but be careful not to dammage the turbine

Im glad you guys did it too! Now im not the only one defending it. Sounds wicked right! No loss of power at all and it seems a tad bit more responsive to me. It allows for a whole lot more air to get in. Ive had 2 buddies of mine do it after i did mine and they love theres too.

Maybe it's time someone does a dyno comparison... It won't be me, b/c I don't have a dyno anywhere near me. The one here in town closed down, but I think it was only big enough to run ricers and cars on. Even if they were still in business...I doubt they even have software to run my truck, or that their dyno could handle something like a diesel, b/c they specialized in tuning ricers.

It took me 1 hour start to finish.... Here's what u do • remove tube from air cleaner housing to turbo it's 2 8mm clamps • remove boost boot ull need an 11mm deep socket • look at the intake housing of the turbo there's a band clamp holding it onto the rest of the turbo it's an 11mm as well so use ur 11mm deep socket, take it loose • u might need to give the turbo a little love tap to get it off O on the bottom side of the turbo there's a band holding in some wiring harnesses ull have to cut it off • I used a center punch on the rivits then a 1/8" drill bit to drill them out • from the back side with either a flat head screw driver or a punch and a hammer tap out the silencer ring • and now ur ready to install ur turbo back on • when reinstalling ur boost boot spray alittle hair spray on the turbo snout just some cheap insurance so u don't blow off ur boost boot I noticed the turbo is still kinda quite under 8 pounds of boost and around 10 pounds it comes to life and screams, I've also noticed my egt's are alittle cooler not much but I can keep my foot in it longer than before. It takes longer to hit 1500 degrees now good luck guys
