camper shells and bed sizes
I tried searching, but it is taking forever to return any results. Does anyone know if a camper shell, like a LEER or simular from a 2001-2002 Dodge shortbed would fit on a 2007 Dodge shortbed. I don't feel like going over and picking it up and trying to test fit if it won't even work. Plus I am still looking for one and just want to know if I can include those yeras in my searching.

Leer
As far as new tops, I just spent the last four weeks trying to get a Leer to fit. The mold is too short from front to back. To get the rear corners to overlap correctly, the front rail only catches one of the two beads of the seal, and just barely touches it. That makes the top, about 1.3" short. (Ive got pics, I'll post later.) I returned the origanl top, and ask if a new one would be made from the same mold, they said yes. I told them that another wouldn't fit either and there was no point in casting one. I then asked them if other models would fit differently. After multiple phone calls, they finally told me that they don't have a "custom" fit cap for dodge short beds & all of their toppers will fit the same way. They said something about the dodge changing bed length...so...who knows. Ya may just have to try it. Leer...I'm freak'n stunned. Now I gotta get my deposit back from the dealer.

Was that just a one-top fits all type or was it suppose to be for a Dodge short bed? The main reason I ask is because I just found out last night that my bed is 5" narrower then a old Dodge Ramcharger Power Wagon. I was going to buy a nice little slide in cabover camper. I needed 65" wide and the new gen is 63" at the top rail and around 60" at the tailgate flange, and so are the new chevy's.

The web site said "custom fit"...but it didn't fit.
