Leveling kits, trac bar, and alignment???s

Ok i bought a 2.5 in leveling kit, then i was told with the 2.5 you need a trac bar or youd be way outta alignment. Ive never leveled a truck before, just lifted them. and usually it was leaf spring suspension. My trucks already outta alignment do i need to get it aligned first or after i put the kit on???

Thanks

The track bar has nothing to do with the alignment, it just locates the front axle in relationship to the frame. But you should have the track bar for just that reason, and to re-center the axle.

But to answer your question, install the leveling kit, then have it aligned!

Get a adjustable Track bar to relocate your axle. I have the 2" kit on the front of mine and the axle is out of center by 3/4". Thats alot and very noticeable if you are looking at it.

What has seemed to work for most people that have installed a 2 or 2.5 inch kit when adjusting the caster or chamber (whatever it is called). since the that adjustment is on the the lower radius arm, adjust it one tick mark to where the radius arm will be longer after adjustment. It will help bring the wheels back to center after a turning. I think that is the first thing you will notice after making that adjustment
