2" Level and tire wear

Hey Guys. I installed a 2" Hell Bent level kit and 35" BFG mud terrains. Got it aligned 2x, and am starting to see the outer edges of the front tires wearing a bit more than the inside edges with only about 3k miles on the tires. Inside of tire still has a sharp edge, but outside is getting rounded off. Anyone else noticing this?

Truck drives straight, but does pull one way or the other depending on the crown of the road...which I assume is normal considering the width of the tire.

Mine did that too. I got it aligned and the problem went away, so I don't know if you are having the same issue. My front passenger tire was wearing, but the driver side was fine. I think that has to do with the fact that the axle is pushed to the passenger side a little because the trackbar is now too short. Maybe you should try a drop bracket or adjustable trackbar?

This could be driving habits to. If you tend to corner faster the weight transfer to the outside tire can cause the tire to roll over a little more and wear quicker. I tend to drive this way and I do notice that my tires do wear a little more on the outside than the inside. I rotate every 5K miles and it has never been a big problem for me.

Actually the front axle is pulled towards the drivers side cause the Track Bar is too short.

I suggest rotating the tires front to back everytime you change your oil. This will even out the tire wear. I always did on my F350 and it exteneded the tire life, I am doing it now on my 95 cummins.

I just installed a HBS 2" leveling kit. is there any way to fix the "track bar too short and axle sticking out the driver side" problem without ordering a $300 adjustable track bar? Thanks for the help.

you can get a 20-50 dollar track bar relocation braket.
I had a BDS one on my last 2500...it was pertty pricey. I know that Top Gun Customz sells one for like 20 for 0-3" level kits and another for i think it's up to 5"
hope that helps yah out schloe.

Ditto

Also runnin the 2" HBS. Have 285/70/17 BFG AT's at the moment but they were worn all to hell before I put it on. Lookin at 35" cooper STT's now. Whoever's runnin bigger tires with a levelin kit, what else have ya'll done to fix the outside wear problems besides an allignment? Anything short of orderin a new track bar?

And what's a drop bracket?

Ricketts

Thanks Talon. I found a bracket for 3-5" lifts but not one for a 2" lift. I'll have to give them a call.

I've never seen a bracket for less than 3" of lift. And that'll just make the axle stick out the other side. Either just don't put any bracket on it or order a adjustable track bar. That's about your only option.
