Plugging aftermarket sirius antenna into stock radio

I have an 08 3500 and it came with the free Sirius radio for a year. That is gone and we moved our already subscribed Sirius to the truck. I put the antenna on the roof and hooked it up as per normal. Is there an easy way to plug that aftermarket antenna into the Dodge radio without bothering the standard reception. Right now we get a lot of static and passing vehicles blast into our speakers.

The fm/am antenna and Sirius antenna are seperate antennas. The stock Sirius box is seperate from the deck and mounted behind the glove box. When I put in an aftermarket deck in my truck I reused the stock Sirius antenna and plugged it into the new aftermarket Sirius box.

First question is are you using the AUX. input on the front of your stock deck or the FM transmitter to get the sirius to play through your stereo? The antenna has nothing to do with your subscription or the quality of the sound you hear. Doing what you suggest would result in not getting any sirius reception because it would be trying to go through the unsubscribed sirius module that came with the truck (and expired after a year). You can use either the truck sirius antenna (by way of an adapter cable) or the one that came with your sirius docking station. Whichever one you use needs to be plugged into your docking station. Getting a cable to plug into the AUX. input yields the best sound quality by far for a sirius. The FM transmitter is a PITA and you always have to adjust the channel to get decent sound unless you're in the middle of nowhere where there are no radio stations broadcasting. Then you only have to worry about otehr people using the same frequency. Hope this helps.

^You don't need an adapter to use the stock Sirius antenna. You just remove the yellow connector overtop of the stock Sirius cable. I've done it in mine and others.

I don't have any aux. input jacks on my radio. It is a stock am/fm/cd with infinity speakers. What I have been doing since my free 1 year subscription to Sirius expired was to use my old system from my old truck. We have a subscription for that and had been using it in the house. Because the reception has so much static and interference I thought there might be a way to wire it through the existing radio so that interference was eliminated. It is just a shot in the dark and threw it out there to see if anyone else had any ideas. I have a feeling it can't be done but you never know.

My bad, I thought I read somewhere you needed an extension cable. Sorry for the misinformation.

Beardedone, maybe look for a used stock unit with the Aux. input. You can probably pick one up for cheap in the classifieds.
