They will make any thing you want. The height of my trailer compared to the bed rails is what is moved up 6-8 inches. The trailer was custom built for the guy I bought it from. He paid 24k with air conditioning and cabinets etc.

I live in Mc Clelland Iowa. I have raced this year at 18 diff tracks so far, I may hit one this weekend and next to make it 20.

Ive raced in Kansas, Iowa, Nebraska, Minnesota, South Dakota, Illinois, Kansas and Texas this year.

Im the guy that won the stock car shootout series this year. 3 tracks in 3 days.

Does anyone know of a reason I cant use one of those short bed spacers to move my trailer back a few inches???

Its tight between it and the truck and I some times drag the corner of my trailer on my in bed fuel tank and tool box when backing up very sharp.

Im also wanting the rubber isolator one, my trailer flexes a lot and this truck shifts hard enough to send it into a jerk or two each time from 3-4,4-5 and slightly 5-6.

I went and looked at the trailer today and decided that the front was just to big for a short bed. I'm gonna have to find something different..Any suggestions?

You can find a used bumper pull and add a v nose gooseneck. A local guy has done 7 or eight of them for short bed guys. Any good welding shop could do something like that.

It will work with the 16 inch extension that is posted above in this thread.

Youll easily recognize the short bed trailers. They have a steel frame extending out in front of the box. A lot of guys put their generator on there.

I think with that extension youll like this trailer and have plenty of room behind your truck to walk under the trailer. Thats what I hate about mine. I always catch my t shirt or jacket on a edge of the diamond plate and tear it,lol..

I think Im going to buy one of those rubber isolator extension deals for my trailer for the cushion and the fact it will move it back about 6-8 inches so I can fit thru there better. I would really like to put a spare tire under there instead of in my bunk like I have it now too!

The thing I was thinking about that 16inch extension is that it would put the weight way behind the axle kind of beating the point of having a gooseneck. I've been looking for a trailer made for a shortbed but man there hard to find.
slowlt1- that seems like it would be alot of work?

he doesnt box in the neck he leaves it exposed it takes him a few days to get it done. I dont know how cost effective it would be

The wt isnt behind your axle its is where the ball is mounted in your truck.

The distance from the trailer axle to the ball is longer with the extension, but Ive seen so many diff combinations of trailers ti must not matter..

It is the same as having a trailer built for a short bed.

start with examining the specs for your truck in regards to pulling a fifth wheel trailer, and then find a trailer within those specs, don't find the most gigantic trailer out there and then try to talk yourself into it

Would a 44' Pace enclosed gooseneck be one of those gigantic trailers? Only 6 foot longer than what I'm looking for so could my truck handle it?

I have a 40' four horse, horse triler with living Quarters. and I used to pull it with my '98 2500. I just put air bags on it. so you should fine.

It has an almost squre nose on it. so you do have to watch it when making tight turns. I called B&W and asked them about their extender hitch, and they told me it drops your max weight you can pull from 30,000lbs to 20,000lbs. Just my .02 worth
