Mine got delivered today. It took about 1 to 1.5 hours to install it. Man that thing looks great. The only thing left is installing the HD cab protector, it was getting dark, so I left it for tomorrow. As mentioned, I got the line-x coated version and it works great with my truck. I also have the bed covered over the rails with line-x, so the whole thing is a perfect match. Initial impressions are very positive, it almost makes you forget the pain of spending so much money on it, almost...

[quote] The Bad: * going down a bumpy gravel road, the clamps worked themselves loose and the front section popped open and the strut bracket broke. A simple rivet gun fixed the problem, but still. The body of my truck under the rear window is now chipped I'm not sure about others, but my clamps are locktite'ed (is that a word?) I assumed that was from factory, have driven thousands of km on very rough roads with nary a problem. Might be a good idea if they're not already. Also, the locks and "handles" will freeze up just like any other lock so keep some lock de-icer handy. Last edited by inthenorth6.7 : 10-20-2009 at 10:45 PM. |

Can anyone with one of these put up a picture of their clamps. Mine seem to fit not quite right... they losen themselves off quite frequently. I will try the lock-tite and see if that works... it seems like there is not a lot of contact with the top of the clamp to the cover... it sits very precariously. Thanks, G

Or are you talking about the set screws for the lock rods? ![]() Forgot to mention that my install time does not include the ATV kit. I haven't even opened the box for it yet. I'll probably tackle that over the weekend. |

I know it would mean drilling into the bed rails, but it would almost seem more efficient if the top were bolted directly to the bed... ???

The sun is setting so getting a decent picture of mine is impossible. I may try tomorrow depending on when I get home from work. |
