A level kit on top of your 5" kit will just make it ride worse and sit nose high. It will pull the front axle back which will increase the tire rub on the back of the fender. A 3" body lift is the more economical choice as far as parts go but are very labor intensive on our trucks. You would need about 10" of total lift to clear those 40's correctly so adding another 5" of suspension would also be very costly. The best thing may be to drop down to 37's and sell the 40's.

It all depends on how much more you are willing to spend on this project and if you plan to do any towing with the truck.

sweet setup man.....as for fixing the problem I have a few suggestions....

I assume you've got aftermarket control arms to perfectly center the tires in the wheelwell? if not, I think they'd help..... Lorenz Industries makes them, and Don Thuren could make a set to the specs you need.

As for the front meats I think the perfect compliment to the unique look you've got going would be a pair of Glassworks Unlimited front fenders.
2006 to 2009 Dodge Ram Front Fenders. 4" flare 2" rise
IMO it's a better look compared to massive painted flares. They're not a ton more expensive and would give a unique, but really functional look.

finally just shim the front bumper & valance out an inch or so to clear the tires turning radius.

I might be all wet about that fixing your problem..... but it's an idea. And yes I second Skin....we need better pics

your setup makes me want to fit 40's on my 3in lift.....sheetmetal be damned!

Thanks guys !

Gonna check into the Fender Replacements.
the 2in rise and 4in flare may offset the rear stock dually flares and look good.
Good friend owns a Paint shop.
Will get more pics today for you guys.
Thanks for all the suggestions and ideas.

well vince looks like your in a situation if i were you i would ditch the 5" and go with a 8". only reason i say is because you really need a 6" to run 37's. and by the way truck looks sick. as stated abve you could probobally make 37's work with that lift, also looks like your wheels have a lot of backspacing. maybe try going with a lil narrower tire.

Get some better pictures of where it rubs! I am not sure that fiberglass fenders will help at all but they would look cool

I think the fenders would help a bit, they are designed to clear larger tires with less lift, and I x2 the need for more pics!

He will have more room to go up but it wont make much more room at the bottom rear of the fender and it certainly wont help it clear the bumper.

I think we need some more pictures to determine what he needs

Im thinking im gonna order the front fenders to try and match the rear stock dually fenders for the overall looks category.

and then do a body lift for clearance ?

The huge tires look good.
Cant send them back.

How bad does it rub? Could you get away with trimming the fenders back? Thats what I had to do for mine but mine are just 35X13.50's with a leveling kit and 5 inches of backspacing...

Dumb question but did you take the front wheel daully spacers off? If not then you should for more clearance.
